Well, I guess it’s time to get started. Not much to report other than deciding to start with Sonic CD, Faerie Solitaire (super exciting), and Sonic Adventure 2: Battle. There will be screenshots when I finish, and I might start one other game to keep things interesting, as none of these are super adventure-y.

Steam Challenge

Recently on reddit I saw a video games challenge to play every game in your steam library at least one time through (or for a set amount of time) and to have it done in the next year. The owner of this challenge also stated that any game beaten did not have to be replayed. As a completionist, however, I think it would be interesting to put away those ‘must get everything’ tendencies and attempt to play every game in my library (with a spreadsheet to keep track of what I complete).

So here are the rules I’m playing by:

I will beat every single player game from start to finish on any difficulty between 1/1/13 and 12/31/13.

1. With large RPG/Sand box games like Skyrim, I will complete the main story line and the main story line in all DLC expansions I own.

2. In games where there is no ending or main story line I will play at least 10 hours.

3. If a game is far too difficult to complete (like Super Meat Boy) I will complete 15 hours.

4. In Multi-Player games such as Left 4 Dead, I will play at least 7 hours of PvP or complete every single co-op mission. If a game has both I will play one or the other (ie. Team Fortress 2).

5. I may play the games in any order.

6. I will only skip a game if playing has become impossible.

7. If I buy a new game, I must play it and satisfy the rules.

So I plan to play all 79 games/DLC in the next year and will be logging that here. Only 26 days until I begin.
